Training for war
Staff Sgt. Joseph Kenney, a HH-60G Pave Hawk flight engineer from the 129th Rescue Squadron, carries a simulated injured Airman during the Advance Operator course near Las Vegas, Nev. in March 2009. This five-day program was designed to teach aircrews a remarkably high skill level with all of their assigned weapons. They were put into varying levels of stressful situations that resemble what they may encounter overseas if forced to land in a non-permissive environment. (U.S. Air Force photo by Maj. Mat Wenthe)
