Save 948: Beijing MSC
Majors David Weidman and Esther Sablan, HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter pilots assigned to the 129th Rescue Squadron, circle the MSC Beijing surveying its decks to establish the safest location to hoist pararesuemen Feb. 4, 2012. Responding to the call from the Eleventh District Coast Guard at Alameda, pararescuers, or PJs, two Pave Hawks and one MC-130P Combat Shadow aircraft departed Moffett Federal Airfield. The team provided medical assistance to a 54-year-old male who had suffered stroke-like symptoms on the cargo ship more than 200 miles off the coast of California.
