Kick off event for Year of the Military Family Published Sept. 1, 2009 Family Program Office MOFFETT FEDERAL AIRFIELD, Calif. -- In commemoration of the Year of the Military Family, all are welcome to attend a free mixer and movie night at the Domain Hotel in Sunnyvale on Saturday, Sept. 12. Single Airmen and married Guard members, their families and friends are all invited. Effective July 2009, the National Guard and its sister services proclaimed July 2009 to July 2010 the Year of the Military Family. In celebration of this, the Wing Family Program Office and the Wing Diversity Committee are hosting a celebration of our very own Guardians of Freedom and their families. For Kids: A separate movie room for kids will be provided (must have parent supervision). Popcorn machine and free kids informational packets and back-to-school supplies will be given away. For Adults: Located in the Peak Room upstairs is the movie pavilion, which will feature free hors d'oeuvres and music. A quaint hotel bar on the 1st floor will also be available. Various military family kiosks will be inside the upstairs movie pavilion. Games and other socializing events will take place. You can even opt to stay at the hotel on Saturday night.
