Colonel Roshan Jessani

Col Roshan M. Jessani is the Deputy Commander of the 129th Rescue Wing, Moffett Air National Guard Base, California. He responsible for over 1,000 Airmen assigned to four Groups and 13 Squadrons, supporting three diverse Combat Rescue weapon systems: HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters, HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and Guardian Angel Pararescuemen.

Col Jessani received his commission through the University of Arizona in 2002. He began his military career as an Army Finance Officer with a branch detail to the Field Artillery Corps. During his tenure in the Army, he deployed twice in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, leading teams in both combat and nation-building operations.

Following his release from active duty in 2008, Col Jessani transferred to the California Air National Guard and joined the 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield, California. During his initial 11-year tenure with the unit, he served in multiple roles, including Budget Officer, Contracting Officer, Force Support Commander and as Comptroller, managing a $60 million annual budget. Subsequently, Col Jessani was assigned to the Defense Innovation Unit in Mountain View, California, where he served as an Agreements’ Officer, responsible for negotiating and awarding prototype contracts in support of five commercial technology portfolios. He then served as the Director of Staff for the California Air National Guard, overseeing executive services, command support staff, and command section activities. Col Jessani holds designations as a Certified Defense Financial Manager and a Certified Acquisition Professional in Contracting. Prior to his current assignment, Col Jessani served as the Commander of the 129th Mission Support Group.
